Problems with Cooper AT3 XLT

The Cooper AT3 XLT is an exceptional-quality all-terrain tire. Customers have reported some issues, some of which could be concerning.

Balancing issue: Some customers complained about experiencing a balancing issue at higher speeds. The tire began to vibrate as soon as the vehicle reached speeds between 70 and 85 mph. Force-balancing can fix this problem.

Chunking: The tire also extensively collects dirt and gravel from the road around the siping.

Additionally, using this tire on heavily muddy or rocky terrain can cause its tread to wear out more quickly. Other than that, we were not able to find any potential issues with the tire.

Overall road experience

Off-Road Performance

Although the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT tires aren’t mud terrain tires, they are known to perform rather well on surfaces with sand, dirt, loose rocks, and even slick rocks. Their impressive tread design helps them tackle all road problems. No matter how difficult the trials might prove to be, their performance always impresses.

On-Road Performance

Similarly, their on-road experience is no different due to their whisper groove shield, which provides a quite smooth ride. AT3 XLT are remarkable tires that handle all on-road and off-road problems while simultaneously providing confidence and comfort.

Smooth and comfortable ride

On the pavement, the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT offers a surprisingly quiet and comfortable ride. The incredible tread design efficiently minimizes road noise, making both highway and city driving a rather enjoyable experience. As explained above, both the off-road and on-road experiences of the car are major pluses, along with a comfortable ride.

Winter/Snow Traction

Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT

The XLT has an exceptional quality mud and snow design. The XLT tire is not specifically designed for use in snowy locations. During severe winter conditions, divers frequently face problems in areas with deep snow. XLT’s performance may prove to be lacking. As a result, the snowy tracks are the limit for these exceptional tires.

Durability

The Cooper Discoverer AT3 XTL has an impressive tread life, which contributes to its 50,000-mile warranty. This means more mileage on a budget. One tiny problem users may face is that these tires tend to collect small stones and pebbles and hold onto them. But the XLT features a 2-ply sidewall, making it susceptible to some tears due to sharp rocks.

Wet traction

The Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT features a deeper grove design, which provides a safer, smoother ride no matter the weather conditions. The XLT features an open shoulder design that helps the driver evacuate water and gives the driver near-perfect hydroplaning resistance; however, it’s still smart to watch your speed while driving in a location with heavy rain.

Treadwear

This all-terrain tire has a stable and solid design, which gives it exceptional grip and great traction and combats almost any weather condition. Although the XLT does not have a specific design for certain conditions, such as snow, it works well for almost all conditions.

Power Efficiency

The Discoverer AT3 XLT may have a negative effect on fuel efficiency because these tires are all-terrain and tend to be a little heavy on fuel. However, as discussed above, their handling does cover fuel inefficiency, and XLTs provide exceptional grip.
